When my mom succumbed to breast cancer a few years ago, not only did I
have to cope with loss, but anxiety and depression as well. Losing the
most influential person in my life called for an effective measure to deal
with the sadness. I chose to journal about gratitude.
Gratitude helps you look at things from a glass full perspective to deal with
the depression. When you switch your thinking from “poor me” to “I am
fortunate,” you see the world within your soundings in a more positive
light.
