If you’re looking to make positive changes in your life then journaling may be just the ticket!
For me journaling has always been a chore. As a kid, writing in a diary was just another thing I had to do and it was a constant battle. However, when I changed the rules to fit my own needs things became a bit easier.
Most advocate for writing in a journal everyday. This never worked for me. I was either too tired, too busy, or just plain lazy.
We all have that friend right? The one that can write three sentences that are deep, insightful, and passionate. That wasn’t me, and moreover, the harder I tried to be deep, the more shallow everything I wrote became.
My journal entries went more like this:
“McDonalds should put more lettuce on their Big Mac.”
“Why do people call pterosaurs dinosaurs?”
“What the heck happened to my shoelace?”
“If mom makes liver and onions for supper ever again I’m running away from home!”
Changing expectations can have a big impact on a positive attitude. Journaling exactly the way you wish to rather than holding yourself to the expectations of others can give you a whole new lease on life!
Do it your way!
