For those of you who find it challenging to pick up a pen or pencil and write in a journal – here are 4 tips to get you started:
- Write with bullet points: using bullet points doesn’t require writing an entire sentence. It can be highlights of your day.
- Keep the notebook in plain sight: if you keep it visible you will remember to write in it. Keep it in the kitchen where you start your day with breakfast. Sit down with your coffee or tea, grab the journal and write. Keep it on your desk within arms reach. Seeing it will remind you to take a few minutes and write down your thoughts.
- Try not to miss more than two days: least we forget. Thoughts come and go and for some, it’s hard to remember a day or so later.
- Set an alert reminder: If all else fails set an alarm or reminder on your smartphone. You know your schedule, pick a time that is best for you to spend a few minutes with your journal.
Many people may find writing in a physical journal a bit obsolete, but we gals here at Journals We Love, well that name says it all right?
